Sun Salutation was developed in ancient India to honor the life-giving energy of the sun.

The Sun Salutation has its roots in Eastern traditions, where it is considered a spiritual refuge and meditation tool.

Sun Salutations at Lemon Tree Online Yoga:

Practicing Sun Salutations in the early hours of the morning will help you start the day energetically and vigorously.

These practices support you to stay alive throughout the day by awakening your body and mind. We will repeat Suryanamaskar A, B and C for 30 minutes and experience the holistic effects of each series on the body.

The Sun Salutation series consists of 12 poses, and each pose has a specific sequencing mathematics behind it.

This sequence is designed to balance the body and optimize energy. Each pose complements the effects of the previous pose and prepares for the next, creating holistic balance and harmony.

Lemon Tree Yoga School’s traditional event “108 Sun Salutations” is a meeting point for yoga lovers around the world every year. On the equinox days and June 21st, World Yoga Day, yogis from all over the world join us live via Zoom from their homes, rooms, gardens or wherever they feel most peaceful. This event allows participants to perform 108 Sun Salutations together in their safe and comfortable spaces.

The dates of the equinox and World Yoga Day in 2024 are as follows:

• Spring Equinox: March 20, 2024
• Summer Equinox (World Yoga Day): June 21, 2024
• Autumn Equinox: September 23, 2024
• Winter Equinox: December 21, 2024

Additional announcements will be made regarding the hours of this year's events.

108 Sun Salutations have great importance in terms of Indian philosophy; 108 is a symbol of universal energy and integrity. In this practice, participants from different geographies come together with a common intention and experience the concepts of energy, unity and integrity. 27 rounds are performed in each set:

• The first 27 rounds are dedicated to the personal inner journey.
• The second 27 rounds are geared towards thinking about relationships and the environment.
• The third 27 rounds focus on universal energy.
• The last 27 rounds are dedicated to wholeness and spiritual harmony.

Participants are encouraged to wear white clothing if possible on these special days. These events are free and invite everyone from around the world to an inclusive yoga experience. Lemon Tree Yoga School’s “108 Sun Salutations” is an annual tradition that brings together yogis from around the world and aims to create wholeness and energy flow.
