Ashtanga Yoga (Half Primary)

Ashtanga Yoga is a traditional yoga system, consisting of a series of postures performed in a specific order. Ashtanga is based on the vinyasa technique, which synchronizes breath with movement. This practice, which strengthens the body while increasing flexibility and calming the mind, consists of six basic series: Primary, Intermediate, and four Advanced.

The Primary Series is designed to purify and strengthen the body. It consists of sun salutations, standing poses, sitting poses, inversions and closing sequences. The Half Primary Series contains only a portion of this full series and is a suitable starting point for those new to the practice.

The Half Primary Series focuses on the sections up to the sitting poses, preparing the body for the first series. This series is ideal for learning the basic poses of Ashtanga Yoga, increasing breath awareness and strengthening physical stamina. More advanced inversions are not included in this series and a half series practice is recommended to strengthen the body before moving on to the full first series.

In the Half Primary Series Ashtanga Yoga class offered at Lemon Tree Yoga's online school, you will have the opportunity to deepen the series with regular practice while strengthening both physically and mentally.

This course will provide a strong foundation for those who wish to explore and develop their Ashtanga Yoga practice.
