Hello dear yogis,
Today I want to share with you my thoughts on hand-arm balances, which have a special place in my yoga practice. These poses teach us to go beyond standing on our feet, to step beyond the ordinary.
I love hand-arm balances because they offer the opportunity to discover the incredible potential and power that exists within us all. Hand-arm balances give us the chance to step out of our comfort zone, to experience freedom and courage. They offer the opportunity to enjoy the moment and have fun, knowing our own sweet limits, without harming. These poses sometimes cause us to fall, then get back up; there is an effort and reality here, like getting back up, holding on to life with a different experience…
Among these poses, if I were to choose one asana, it would definitely be Bakasana (Crow Pose or Crane Pose). Bakasana improves your balance not only physically but also mentally. I have worked on this pose for a long time, practicing to be able to do it firmly and safely; but without forcing myself, going with the flow. I have not given up practicing, trying. Bakasana gives us the opportunity to discover our courage and face our own inner power. This pose requires not only balancing on the arms, but also mentally focusing and living in the moment.
Life is based on balance.
We also search for these balances every time on our yoga mat. Hand-arm balances are like life itself; sometimes we fall, but we learn to get back up stronger each time.
These poses are a beautiful reminder that we are flexible, adaptable, and in a constant state of change.
“Balance is not perfect stillness, but harmony in motion.” - S. Pavese
Working on hand-arm balances allows us to experience the dynamic balance of life through yoga practice.
So be gentle and patient with yourself in your quest for balance. Every practice is a dance with yourself.
With love,
